Art Care Work

fertility / birth / pregnancy / death & loss

A seemingly queer, trans, or non-binary couple in casual clothing tending to tall flowers outdoors.

At the heart of my practice lies art care work, a philosophy that blends clinical expertise with an artistic lens—transforming healthcare into a deeply personal and creative experience. As a midwife and artist, my work is not merely clinical; it is a deeply creative practice, woven with intention, presence, and a reverence for storytelling. The reproductive journey is shaped by both life and loss, light and shadow, deserving of reflection and remembrance. Birth—and the seasons surrounding it—is not just a medical event but a lived experience, rich with depth and meaning.

Through the timeless medium of film photography, I create space for these moments to be witnessed, honored, and preserved. With nearly a decade of perinatal healthcare experience, I approach this work with both the precision of a clinician and the vision of an artist—capturing the raw, unfiltered essence of preconception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Just as I provide hands-on, evidence-based care, I also craft visual narratives that honor the sacred transitions of life. My lens, much like my hands, is attuned to both the subtleties and the grandness of these moments, preserving them as works of art and ensuring they are not only remembered but truly seen. In this way, my practice is intrinsically creative, bridging the worlds of medicine and art to offer care that is not only skilled but also deeply human and respectfully affirmed.

To invite me into your perinatal health journey is to invite not only my medical expertise but also my creative gaze.

I would be honored.
